Love Words Dedicated To My Dear Friend.
[My friend agreed to share this story.
The names have been changed to protect my friends.]
*ring, ring, ring, ring*
That was my lame ringtone ringing in the middle of the night.
(These few weeks I have been lacking sleep due to driving tests, preparation for college intake and planning for that special Hong Kong family vacation.)
I answered the phone and a voice on the other end said “Candice, I think it’s over” then she started to cry. I was half asleep but I felt that sorrow in her heart. Ann is one of my good friend who has been having relationship problems with her boyfriend. While my friend was crying at 3am in the morning, I have to pull myself together in order to support her.
This is what I remembered about last night phone conversation:

SIMPLE 3 STEP SOLUTION:
#Step 1: Talking Helps But Not Yelling.
It’s good exercise for you and your boyfriend to at least talk about it. The fact that you both agreed to take a break means that you are feeling confident about your relationship. Breaks signal change/admitting that there are problems that you need to fix.
#Step 2: Know The Terms and Conditions.
This is like a business deal, you need to clarify the “rules”. Example: Are we still friends? How long until we can go back to normal? Will you still contact/msn/sms/call me?
#Step3: Wait and Wait and Wait.
Give him and yourself time. Maybe he just needs to be with his friends or even alone. Don’t spend your free time worrying about “what ifs”. Also take this time to re-evaluate your relationship.
*as cliché as it may sound-follow your heart!*
Good luck to everyone.
